START HERE: Welcome to Anturia

New here? Anturia is a vast and complex world. Start here and leave reality behind.

What is Anturia?

Anturia is a planet shaped by sapphic heroes, where women have ruled for over 10,000 years. It blends ancient magic and modern technology, with political conspiracies spanning centuries. The stories in Anturia are ones you can feel and experience, not just be told. When you think the lore is deep, you learn through the stories that it’s actually much deeper.

Anturia Diaries is an epic dark fantasy world that is deeply emotional but not without hope. You will not find grimdark, romantasy, or high fantasy stories here.

What you will find is that the choices women on Anturia make change the course of planetary history, and the truth of those stories can vary depending on whose point of view you’re hearing.

What makes Anturia different?

  1. Anturia is extremely vast because it was first created over 40+ years ago in the brain of a small, wiry, redheaded, left-handed girl who was bullied, cast out, and made fun of by nearly everyone. She disappeared into her own mind to make sense of the darkness she found around her in the real world. She needed to become her own hero and surround herself with other females who wanted to do the same. Anturia is massive in scale, with decades of building, and includes everything from governments and cultures to histories, cosmology, technology, and magic. You won’t get a lore dump, but you will discover the depth as you live the stories through the characters.
  2. The main characters in the stories of Anturia are predominantly sapphic. This isn’t token representation to market books or cater to a subset population. This progression comes naturally through the characters’ evolution, and while the stories aren’t romantasy, they can be deeply emotional. These characters mold what Anturia becomes in the stories.
  3. The author explores themes that matter deeply to her from her experiences. Anturia is a safe place where themes of feminism, colonialism, genocide, blind trust in government, racism, prejudice, complacency, and acceptance can be explored in depth, along with the consequences of living through those themes. The stories aren’t meant to give you answers, but to leave you thinking, “What would I have done?”
  4. With over 40 years of world-building, Anturia will keep expanding as the stories are released. Each season of the Prequel Stories takes you deeper into how the world came to be and sets the stage for my debut novel in the Landoris Wars series, which will consist of 8 novels. However, that is just the beginning of the world of Anturia. You will have a place you can truly get lost in any time you need to get away.

Who will you meet first?

Bryn Tal – the Reluctant Leader
Bryn Tal wanted to serve the people who elected her in her home community of Teithia and come home every night and spend every session break with her granddaughter. She didn’t want the fate of a planet to rest on her, but Anturia doesn’t care what she wants.

Dahlfia Dewr – The Protector
Dahlfia Dewr is a trained warrior and killer with many buried secrets of her own. She has stood beside Bryn Tal for various reasons, some known and some that may never be. But you will always find her at Bryn’s side.

Kylah Marie – The Fighter
Kylah Marie is a tournament champion. But more than that, she is an exile who survived. She speaks without a filter and feels more strongly than she curses. While she does not trust easily, she will stand beside those she deems worthy until the end.

Awyr’naid D’minyddu – ONE
Awyr leads the legendary Velg’lan and is the highest-ranking member of the Nine who run the community of Che’el de Velg’lan. Across Anturia, she is the most feared woman in combat. She can be ruthless in politics and completely uncompassionate about outsiders’ needs if there’s no benefit for the Velg’lan. Her people are always her priority.

Kerrih – The Woman Who Changes Everything
The Prequel Stories do not begin with Kerrih; however, you cannot tell the stories of Anturia without her. When she shows up, you should probably pay attention. Her voice is purposely silenced from your ears because, well, history likes to silence strong women. You must live her through the eyes of others.

What can you expect?

Do you like certain attributes or tropes in stories? Anturia touches on more than I can list for you, but I suspect you will find more than one thing you enjoy reading in Anturia as a dark fantasy fan.

Anturia includes a slow-burn sapphic relationship, moral ambiguity, secrets, political tension and battles, found family, betrayals, mythical magic that cannot save the day, advanced technology, female heroes who do things that may make you feel ick, and stories that interconnect more deeply than they appear on the surface.

Where should I begin?

Here’s an excerpt from the first episode of the first season!

Season 1: Episode 1 – The Porta Segreta

Imprint of Bryn Tal

>Begin Porta Cor imprint.<

I do not know where I am.

A day ago, I entered the Council hall in Teithia because the city was in turmoil. I knew collapse was simply a matter of time. I ordered citizens to evacuate, but I knew that, like a captain, I must perish with my ship.

One minute, I was running through the council building’s hallways, and it felt like the city of Teithia crumbled around me. Thick dust filled the air, and every breath tasted like stone and old blood. In an instant, I felt the heat of an intense fire moving toward me. The fire…she must have done what I asked.

Then suddenly everything went black, and I woke up here in this cell. I never see my captors, but they slide food and water to me. I don’t even see light most of the time. I know I need to record every event that led to this, so those left behind can understand where we went wrong.

It began over two hundred years ago with an off-world stranger in bright orange and a doorway that never should have been opened.

This is how it began: before the fires, before the betrayals, before I lost everything I loved.

What else is coming?

My debut novel, The Battle of Du’Roi, is currently in development and slated for a 2027 release. You can stay up to date on its progress by subscribing to my Substack!

The Prequel Stories episodes introduce the history, people, conflicts, and secrets of Anturia, but you don’t need them to enjoy the novels. The Battle of Du’Roi begins the Landoris Wars series, a planned 8-novel set with ideas I’ve had in my head for at least 30 years.

You can read a draft of Chapter One of The Battle of Du’Roi here.

Become a Founding Citizen of Teithia

The first 100 subscribers to Anturia Diaries on Substack will become the Founding Citizens of Teithia, and their names will appear in the Legends of Teithia listing in the back of my debut novel, The Battle of Du’Roi.

If you’ve found Anturia while it’s still small, strange, and growing, you get the privilege of creating a legend.

Become a Legend of Teithia!

One last thing…

Anturia is not a lightweight world you glance at and put down. It is a world where you lose yourself in how it makes you feel and the deep and rich history you will uncover. Some of the places and characters have been with me for decades, and I write the world of Anturia with the intention that they remain with you long after the episodes and novels are completed.

You don’t need to understand everything about Anturia before you begin, but you should be armed every time you enter.

Welcome to Anturia.

Bring your daggers. 🗡️
